ABOUT ABOUT

“And Love we found, and peace, where Fire and War had been” writes Robert Louis Stevenson in the final movement of Jonathan Santore’s Armistice Poems.

Our November concert, during Veteran's Day weekend, is in two parts, the first half surveys writings on war, peace, and the personal struggle that soldiers, families, and communities grapple with during conflict. The texts come from wars spanning across American history which prompt questions as to the necessity of violence. The second half of the concert will be the complete Duruflé Requiem for choir and organ, a sublime meditation which features the choir beautifully throughout, featuring our new collaborative pianist, Brett Maguire.

Join us at 3:00pm for a pre-concert conversation about the concert led by Brad Dumont, artistic director.
